KARACHI: Bullish trend was witnessed on the Karachi share market on Wednesday and the benchmark KSE-100 index increased by 152.14 points to close at the level of 14,142.52 points.

The market opened on a strong positive note and the index hit 14,166.71 points intra-day high. The index remained in green zone throughout the session.

Trading activities also improved significantly as the volumes at ready counter increased to 246.394 million shares as compared to 164.070 million shares traded on last trading session. Total market capitalization increased by Rs 41 billion to Rs 3.615 trillion. Of the total 379 active stocks, 234 closed in positive and 88 in negative while the value of 57 stocks remained unchanged.

KESC was the volume leader with 20.648 million shares and gained Re 0.77 to close at Rs 4.47 followed by PTCL that increased by Re 0.97 to close at Rs 13.52 with 18.619 million shares.
