NEW YORK: U.S. stocks fell at the open on Friday as the most recent flare-up in Greek negotiations for a financial bailout package put the S&P 500 on track to snap a three-day winning streak.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 93.17 points, or 0.72 percent, at 12,797.29. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was down 11.23 points, or 0.83 percent, at 1,340.72. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 27.25 points, or 0.93 percent, at 2,899.98.
