ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on saturday that there is no space for terrorism, militancy or extremism in Islam and those involved in such activities cannot even claim to be Muslims.
The Prime Minister, in his message on the occasion of Eid Milad-un- Nabi (SAWW) being celebrated on Sunday, said,"Those, who spread disorder and chaos, cannot even claim to be Muslims as the scourges of terrorism and extremism are incompatible to the essence of Islamic teachings."
The Prime Minister said today the Muslims around the world including Pakistan are celebrating Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) with religious zeal.
He said it is a sacred day for the Muslims and the entire humanity, as this day marks the birth anniversary of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH), who is the last Prophet and the source of guidance to the mankind.
The Prime Minister said, "The Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought with him the Holy Quran and Islam, which would continue to serve as a beacon of light for the human beings till the Day of Judgment."
He said the Holy Quran says: "And, (O Esteemed Messenger,) We have not sent you but as a mercy for all the worlds."
The Prime Minister said, "On the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), I would like to congratulate the entire Muslim community, including the people of Pakistan living within the country as well as abroad."
Gilani said with the arrival of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the clouds of infidelity got evaporated and the message of peace, love and equality became eternal.
“Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) purged the people from darkness , sins and integrated them into a relationship of brotherhood and one nation," said the Prime Minister.
He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) brought about a social and spiritual revolution in the world and hence changed the course of human history and declared: "The Muslim is the one from whose hands and tongue other Muslims remain safe."
He said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) urged his followers to imbibe the values of love, peace, tolerance and compassion and told the world that Islam is a universal religion of peace, which guarantees human dignity, brotherhood and welfare without any discrimination.
The Prime Minister said the Holy Prophet (PBUH) advised the people to demonstrate sympathy, love and affection and be kind to one another in their dealings and interactions.
The way Islam spread across continents within a short span of time was unbelievable that demonstrates the power of persuasion of the Islamic teachings, he added.
He said the life of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) is a perfect and practical interpretation of the Holy Quran and it is for this reason that Allah Almighty endowed the title of 'Mercy for all the worlds' on the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
The Prime Minister said Islam presents such an excellent code of life as founded on the lofty principles of Sovereignty of Allah Almighty, brotherhood, equality and respect for humanity.
"Islam is firmly opposed to nepotism, sectarianism, oppression and coercion and fully rejects exploitation of every kind," he added.
The Prime Minister said Islam does not allow anyone to spread violence and strife on the face of earth and forbids people to kill others.
He said the essence of Islamic teachings is that a man should respect other human beings irrespective of any discrimination of caste, cellar, creed or race.
Gilani said Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: "Whoever killed a person (unjustly), except as a punishment for murder or for (spreading) disorder in the land, it would be as if he killed all the people (of society); and whoever (saved him from unjust murder and) made him survive, it would be as if he saved the lives of all the people (of society, i.e., he rescued the collective system of human life)."
The Prime Minister said, "We can make the world a hub of peace by acting upon the teachings of Islam."
He said since Islam preaches peace and love, therefore, those, who enter its fold, become the embodiment of the same.
The Prime Minister said there is a dire need to resort to splendid traditions and teachings of Islam in the contemporary world to make it respond to emerging challenges in a proactive manner.
He said the entire life of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) is a beacon of light and worthy of emulation by man of every age.
The Prime Minister said, "Let us pledge to act upon the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and prove to the world that the Muslims are the torch-bearers of peace in the world. Let us vow to spread his message in a world, which is torn apart by strife and violence."
