ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Monday said Pakistan looked forward to improvement of bilateral ties with Thailand in the days ahead.
He was talking to the outgoing Ambassador of Thailand Marut Jipatima who paid a farewell call on at him at the PM House.
The Prime Minister appreciated the role of the Ambassador in bringing the two countries closer and especially enhancing trade, commerce and cultural ties, a press release from the PM House said.
The Prime Minister said he was looking forward to meet the Thai Prime Minister during his visit to Davos later this month where Thai Premier was coming to attend World Economic Forum.
The Prime Minister said the people of Pakistan and the government were looking forward to welcome princess Maja von Hohenzollern when she would arrive the country at the invitation of President of Pakistan Asif Ali Zardari.
The Prime Minister called upon the need of high level exchanges of security officials, businessmen and cultural representatives to accord further impetus to the cooperation already existing in these sectors.
The Ambassador extended deep sense of gratitude to Pakistan and the people of the country for their cooperation during his stay in Pakistan.
The Ambassador extended an invitation to the Prime Minister on behalf of his government to visit Thailand at a convenient date.
