ISLAMABAD: As many as 19 militants were killed while 12 others sustained injuries in the security forces overnight operations in different areas of Khyber and Kurram tribal agencies, the ISPR said on Friday.
Three security forces personnel, including an officer, also embraced Shahadat and three others sustained injuries during the clashes with the terrorists.
According to the ISPR spokesman, the security forces in a successful operation captured western heights of Maidan area in Khyber agency.
The security forces launched an operation in Para Chamkani area of Kurram Agency and Maidan in area in Khyber Agency Thursday night.
After tough resistance from the terrorists the security forces have established a foothold on Muhammadi Top in Kurram Agency and captured Haider Kandao which can move to Maidan area in Khyber Agency.
All dominating heights of the area also have been cleared/occupied by the forces. During exchange of fire 19 terrorists were killed while 12 others were injured. Three soldiers, including an officer, embraced Shahadat and three others sustained injures.
Locals of the area have extended all out support to the security forces and have also formed village defence committee to protect their villages against any counter attack by the terrorists.
