RCCI holds ceremony to honour police party

The President Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and industry (RCCI) Syed Asad Mashadi has said that masses criticise police over shortcomings but they forget to appraise the department over its tremendous achievements. He said that police should be rewarded for its success and RCCI will continue these kinds of ceremonies.

He was addressing a recognition ceremony held by RCCI to honour the police party which not only arrested wanted criminals of extortion and theft cases but also made complete recoveries. Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika and City Police Officer (CPO) Humayun Bashir Tarrar were also present on the occasion along with SP Rawal Karamat Ullah Malik, former presidents of RCCI Sheikh Shabbir, Sohail Altaf, S. M. Naseem, Senior Vice President Mian Humyaun Parvez, Vice President Saboor Malik and members of executive Committee.

RCCI president termed people's trust on police force a vital element for institution's better performance while saying that the whole department should never be blamed for the wrongdoings of some black sheep. He presented chhheque worth Rs 50,000 and conferred recognition certificates to the members of police party and urged them to carry their spirit. He assured the participants that RCCI would be carrying this tradition of acknowledging the good deeds of the protectors of general public.

On this occasion, the recognition certificates were conferred upon SP Rawal Karamat Ullah Malik, Waris Khan's ASP Behram Khan, DSP City Babar Mumtaz, Waris Khan SHO Allah Yar Malik, SI Mazhar of PS Banni, ASI Mazhar Qadri of IT, ASI Mehbub ul Rehman, ASI Khalid Yar, Head Constable Ejaz Ahmed, Head Constable Shakil Chiragh, Constable Imtiaz Ahmed, and Constable Khalid.

While addressing on the occasion, RPO Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalika lauded RCCI for the good gesture and said that police department was always criticised for misconducts but its success stories were never recognised in such way. He termed RCCI's step a unique idea to boost the morale of not only officers but lower ranks as well. Assuring the commitment of public service and safety, RPO said that no compromises will ever be made in this regard.-PR
