ISLAMABAD: Institute of Space Technology (IST) will celebrate World Quality Day (WQD) on Friday, December 21 to raise awareness about quality and to place quality at the top of the individuals' priority.
The day is celebrated to demonstrate commitment to quality and to perpetually improve the business and survive in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
In 1989,organizations such as Quality Organizations of Europe, USA and Japan took an initiative to float the idea of 'World Quality Day' which the United Nations Organization took up to promote the importance of water quality.
With the involvement of world quality organizations, it supports standardization in the field of vocational training and personnel certification.
Every year it is celebrated with a particular motto and this year is the twenty-first anniversary.
Talking to APP, an official said WQD provides an opportunity for every organization to shake up and reaffirm commitment to grow in business in constantly changing environment.
To celebrate the day, IST is organizing a workshop to demonstrate commitment to quality.
The topics which will be covered in the workshop includes developing competence in People to meet Challenges for industry to find right people or people to get right industry.
