ATHENS: Greek stocks plunged 7.7 percent in early on Monday trade after voters angry with vital eurozone austerity measures handed parties opposed to more cuts a stunning election result.
The election left the two main pro-austerity votes short of an absolute majority, making it unclear how a new government will be formed. This and the French election result rattled other European markets and sent the euro to a three-month low.
