Whenever traditional rivals Pakistan and India face each other in any sporting arena, it creates high intensity and makes tense affair between the two countries. This time it will be two of the best mixed martial arts fighters from the neighboring countries take on each other in a World Series of Fighting Global Championship bout at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Manila, Philippines on Saturday.
UnderGround Battle (UGB) MMA champion Uloomi Karim, who is representing Pakistan in the flyweight fight, will face the undefeated Yadwinder Singh of India today.
“I have worked extremely hard on my cardio for this fight, and I’m confident it will make a difference,” Karim said while speaking with Express Tribune.
When asked about his challenger he said, “Yadwinder is a traditional wrestler who has transitioned into the MMA, while my strength lies is striking. Hence, the fight won’t just have the Pakistan-India angle to it but will also be a battle of styles.”
Along with Karim his good friend Ahmed ‘Wolverine’ Mujtaba will also be in action in featherweight fight against Philippines’ Neil Larano.
This contest is not as hyped about as the bat and ball affair, they aren’t like Afridi and Kohli, but they have potential, courage and talent to make their respective countrymen proud.
The fight will be streamed live on wsofgc.com at 3pm (PKT) on Saturday.
