TOULON: Former France wing Vincent Clerc will join Toulon on a one-year deal from Top 14 rivals Toulouse at the end of the season, the three-time European champions announced on Thursday.
"Vincent Clerc will be at RC Toulon for one year (at least) after the end of this season," tweeted Toulon, currently second in the Top 14 behind Clermont.
The 35-year-old, who has made 67 international appearances, did not sign an extension to his contract at Toulouse, where he has played for the last 14 years.
Clerc, the second-highest all-time try scorer for France with 34, had already announced on Tuesday that he had not been offered a deal to stay and would be leaving.
Since arriving from Grenoble in 2002, Clerc has won three French titles and three European Cups, and will still be hoping to add more silverware before the end of this campaign, with Toulouse well placed to make the Top 14 playoffs.
