ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will participate in the Commonwealth Youth, Junior and Senior Weightlifting Championships scheduled to be held at Pune, India from October 11 to 16.
Pakistan team will take part in the championship in 62, 69, 77, 85, 94, 105 and +105 Kg weight categories.
The federation approached Pakistan Sports Board for obtaining government NOC in this regard, says a press release issued here.
Presently, national weightlifting training camp is in progress here at Pakistan Sports Complex in which 16 players are undergoing rigorous training under the supervision of qualified coaches.
The training camp is being sponsored by the Pakistan Sports Board.
Pune is one of the most famous IT hubs of India and rightly recognized as a southern capital of India.
Pune has the experience in hosting Commonwealth Youth Games in 2008. This tournament is the most important supporting event for Commonwealth countries in the sport of weightlifting in the year 2015.
The competition will be held in accordance with the IWF rules and regulations.
Doping control will be conducted during the competition in accordance with the IWF anti doping policy.
