British-Pakistani boxer, Amir Khan formally opened a 'Boxing Academy' in Islamabad and expressed hope to participate in boxing in Pakistan one day.
According to local media reports Khan said, “The reason I want to get involved in sport and boxing for Pakistan is because I believe there is so much talent in the country that needs to be projected. Pakistan is a great country”.
“I really believe Pakistan could be one of the top nations in boxing. We have the talent, we have everything that we need and I am here to show my support, and he believe that we can make many champions from Pakistan and to do this we announce the foundation of an academy here,” he added.
Amir was optimistic about the future of boxing in Pakistan and to establish a boxing academy with the collaboration Pakistan Sports Board (PSB), to train young pugilists of the country.
