imageSYDNEY: The Gold Coast Titans moved into Australia's National Rugby League top eight with a 28-14 win over the Canterbury Bulldogs in this weekend's truncated round.

The Titans broke a 10-10 half-time deadlock with three unanswered tries to run away with the game for their second straight win.

Canberra Raiders-bound pivot Aidan Sezer had a say in the result, figuring in two tries and kicking four goals.

Rising youngster James Roberts also celebrated his two-year contract extension with the Titans with two more tries to make it 13 for the season.

The leading teams Brisbane Broncos, North Queensland Cowboys and St George Illawarra Dragons were among eight teams having this weekend off with a bye ahead of Wednesday's second NSW-Queensland State of Origin game in Melbourne.

Returning centre Blake Ferguson scored in the final minute to give the Sydney Roosters an unlikely 25-21 comeback win in Auckland.

The Roosters had trailed for most of the match before former Warrior James Maloney levelled the scores with a try with eight minutes left.

Maloney then kicked a drop goal to edge his side ahead, before Shaun Johnson replied for the Warriors with three minutes left.

Maloney shaped for another drop goal before shifting the ball wide and Ferguson dived over in the corner to win the game.

Wests Tigers scrum-half Luke Brooks led his side to an upset 34-6 win over defending champions South Sydney.

With the Tigers missing their NSW State of Origin stars Robbie Farah and Aaron Woods, Brooks stepped up, scoring a solo try and setting up another to ease the pressure on under-fire coach Jason Taylor.
