imageBERLIN: Germany coach Joachim Loew has revealed that the world champions' aim is to keep their rivals guessing in their bid to add the Euro 2016 title to their Brazil 2014 crown.

"We want on one hand to have a clear game plan, but on the hand to be unpredictable," Loew said in an interview on dfb.de.

"We are the world champions and ranked first in the world.

"The task is now to confirm these successes and not to let them go.

"We want to repeat the moment when we received the (World Cup) trophy. That is our motivation."

Germany suffered a post-Brazil hangover as they struggled in their opening Euro 2016 qualifiers with a shock defeat to Poland and a draw at home with Ireland, but are currently second to the Poles in Group D.

Loew's Germany are away to minnows Gibraltar in their next qualifier in June before key clashes at home to group leaders Poland in September then Scotland and Ireland away with the top two teams qualifying automatically for France 2016.

Following a series of injuries and retirements in the wake of their Brazilian triumph, Loew is in the process of rebuilding his side.

"Our team is still young, but I see great potential which goes for every single player," said the 55-year-old, who has extended his German Football Association (DFB) contract until 2018.

"We want to create a spirit of optimism towards France and set a new stimulus, but before that, first we have to qualify for the European championships, everything else is secondary."
