LISBON: Estoril Praia announced Tuesday that coach Jose Couceiro has been released after the Portuguese league strugglers had lost all of their last five matches.
The Lisbon suburb side explained the contract with Couceiro was "termined by mutual agreement".
Estoril Praia, who are currently 12th in the 18-team league, seven points above the relegation zone, were thrashed 6-0 by leaders Benfica on Saturday.
Couceiro, 52, had joined Estoril in May 2014 after stints with Porto, Sporting Lisbon as well as Lokomotiv Moscow and the Lithuanian national team.
Couceiro is the sixth coach to lose his job in Portugal this season.
