BERLIN: Werder Bremen want evergreen Lazio striker Miroslav Klose to come back and help with their struggle against relegation, German daily Sports Bild reported on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old Klose is under contract at Italian club Lazio until the end of the season, but scored 53 league goals for Werder between 2004-2007.
"If he were to become available we'd certainly be interested in him," said Werder sports director Thomas Eichin, whose side went into the German winter break third from bottom of the Bundesliga.
"It's be a dream. A player with such experience could really help the younger players," said Werder's Ukrainian coach Viktor Skripnik.
Klose set a German record of 71 international goals (from 137 games) during the course of their triumphant World Cup campaign in 2014, where he also scored a record 16th goal at World Cup finals matches in what was his fourth finals.
