Pakistan veteran all rounder Shahid Afridi and spin master Saeed Ajmal has called for peace between Pakistan and India, amid escalation in tensions between both neighbors.
Afridi affectionately called Boom Boom by his fans came to Twitter to express his views, over the rising tensions between India and Pakistan.
“Pakistan is a peace loving nation, y talk abt extreme measures when things can be resolved through dialogues. Pakistan wants cordial (relationships)” Afridi tweeted. He further stated, “Relationship with all. When 2 neighbours fight both homes are effected (affected).”
Similar sentiments were expressed by Ajmal, who was of the view that cricket should used to diffuse tensions, "In the past also having cricket series helped reduced tensions and I firmly believe there should be cricket between the two countries," said Ajmal, report4ed local media reports.
The statement comes after India’s BCCI has announced to completely rule out cricket ties with Pakistan.
