The National Selection Committee and team management has announced a 13-man squad for the only Twenty20 against England to be played at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
Sarfraz Ahmed will lead the team, while Shahid Afridi, the former captain, has not been included as Pakistan look to bring in flesh blood.
Selection committee ignored former T20 captain Shahid Afridi along with middle-order batsman Umar Akmal and opener Ahmad Shahzad.
He featured in the Twenty20 tournament in England for Hampshire but failed to give a performance of any note which forced the selectors to leave him out this time. Inzamam-ul-Haq, the chief selector, said Afridi will be selected in the future if he performs better in domestic matches.
Mohammad Hafeez, the opener, was also not selected after he returned home mid-way in the ongoing One-Day International series against England due to a knee injury. As per reports, there was a recall for Sohail Tanvir, the left-arm seamer, who last played a T20I in November last year against England.
Chief selector Inzamamul Haq finalized the following names to the T20I squad for the September 7 event in Manchester.

Sarfraz Ahmed (captain), Khalid Latif, Sharjeel Khan, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Nawaz, Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Irfan, Sohail Tanvir, Ammad Butt.
The match will be played on September 7 in Manchester.
