Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur has expressed disappointment over the recent performance by Mohammad Hafeez, as he expects more from the senior player.
Hafeez scored mere 11 runs in first one-day international against England before he was dismissed by part time bowler Joe Root.
According to local media report, Arthur is losing his cool with Muhammad Hafeez and was particularly not happy with the way he has been dismissed during the England tour.
Hafeez has been facing drop of form for a quite some time, which has raised questions on his regular appearance as an opener in the Pakistan cricket team. Having played 176 ODIs, the 35-year-old ranks among seniors in Pakistan’s otherwise young one-day squad.
In an interview earlier this month, Hafeez said that he was focusing more on regaining his fitness and cementing his place in the playing eleven as a specialist batsman.
However, Pakistan is currently placed at 9th spot in ICC ODI Rankings and is keen to to improve their ICC ODI Rankings against England, who has performed well in the previous ODI series against Sri Lanka.
