Pakistan’s off-spinner Saeed Ajmal and other side border Indian player Harbhajan Singh have been confirmed to play charity match in the Yorkshire Tea T20 on September 22 at The Kia Oval in Kennington, London.
Harbhajan, who played for Surrey in 2005 and 2007, will join the Surrey All-Stars XI managed by Alec Stewart, while Ajmal will feature in the Cricket United XI side being managed by Michael Vaughan.
On the list of current players like Jason Roy, Sam Curran and Jade Dernbach will feature in Surrey’s side alongside legendary captain Adam Hollioake and batsman Kevin Pietersen. They will take on a Cricket United XI starring former West Indian captain Darren Sammy, spinner Monty Panesar, all-rounder Yasir Arafat among others as per KiaOval.com
Proceeds from the match would be split evenly between the three charities and used to change the lives of a range of cricket beneficiaries; from children starting out in the game to professional players retiring from it.
As well as aiming to raise money for good causes, the game will once again act as an end of season party for the Kia Oval after last year’s Cricket for Heroes match which rose over £300,000 for the Help for Heroes charity.
