Pakistan Super League (PSL) has already got so much attention and now this year the draft of the second edition of PSL is expected to be held in Dubai not in Pakistan (Lahore).
According to local media report, All the national players will be in UAE in October and we want their participation in the draft thus it has been decided to host it in Dubai this time around,” a PSL official told to local media.
Pakistan has been forced to play nearly all its home series at neutral venues since fighters attacked the Sri Lanka team's bus in 2009, killing eight people and injuring nine others, including six touring cricketers.
Pakistan's first franchise-based league may not be enough to overcome revenue and time lost during the country's long exile from hosting international cricket.
Earlier, the inaugural edition of the players’ draft was held in Lahore at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) but as per local media report, the management of the T20 league decided that since the players will be in Dubai, holding the event in Lahore would pose logistical problems.
Last year, Islamabad United won the first Pakistan Super League final by 6 wickets, defeating the hot favourite Quetta Gladiators at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
