The Pakistan cricket team will depart to England on Saturday for a long-lasting series comprising four Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20.
Misbah ul Haq will be leading the national test team in the Test series while Azhar Ali and Sarfraz Ahmed will captain the teams in ODIs and Twenty20, respectively.
Reportedly, most of the players were barred by the board to appear in media or give interviews ahead of the tour and will have limited interactions with the English media as well.
However, Amir, who has not played Test cricket since his involvement and ban in match fixing during Lord’s Test, would return to Test on July 14 on the same ground. This will be the first assignment for new head coach Mickey Arthur while it will see the return of Muhammad Amir in England after the infamous spot-fixing scandal in 2010.
Before the team departure to the UK all the players will be introduced to new head coach Mickey Arthur while the team manager Intakhab Alam will deliver briefing on code of conduct and take players signature, local media reported.
Besides that other coaches Mushtaq Ahmed, Azhar Mahmood, Grant Flower, Grant Luden, team physiotherapist will also travel with the team. While fast bowling Coach Azhar Mahmood will not available to the team in test series as he has contract with Surrey County and in Azhar Mahmood absence Mushtaq Ahmed will act as vice-coach of the team and before onset of ODI’s Azhar will take charge from Mushtaq Ahmed.
Pakistan will start their England tour with the first Test scheduled on 14th of next month, which will be followed by three more Tests, five ODIs and a T20.
The players who have made it into the squad include Mohammad Amir, Rahat Ali, Imran Khan, Sohail Khan, Wahab Riaz, Junaid Khan, Hassan Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed, Rizwan, Adnan, Yasir Shah, Zulfiqar Babar, Imad Wasim, Bilal Asif, Zohaib Khan, Younis Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Malik, Asad Shafiq, Babar Azam and Haris Sohail.
