Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi has expressed that he will be available for Pakistan’s tour of England this summer if required by his country.
In an interview with BBC, the star player Shahid Afridi said that he is staying away from the team for England series as selectors want to give chance to youngsters. "I m happy to concentrate on my county summer at the moment and then we’ll see what happens later," he added. The 35-year-old said, “If they (Pakistan) want me later in the summer, then I’m available.”
The 36-year-old is currently in England where he will represent Hampshire in the county starting from their first match against Middlesex on Friday. Earlier, Afridi admitted his poor performance in WT20 and resigned as T20 captain. The flamboyant all-rounder retired from Tests and One-Day Internationals (ODI) in 2010 and 2015 respectively.
Pakistan will play England in a one-off T20 International on September 7 under their new captain, Sarfraz Ahmed.
