imageBalochistan defeated Islamabad by three wickets in the 9th encounter of Pakistan Cup 2016 at Iqbal stadium, Faisalabad.

Balochistan led by Pakistan ODI skipper Azhar Ali, while Kamran Akmal, led by Islamabad. After winning the toss, Islamabad chose to bat first and set a total of 315/8 against Balochistan.

Islamabad team played a fabulous innings against Balochsitan, Kamran Akmal’s magnificent innings of 134 runs and Imam-ul-Haq significant contribution of 102 runs off 124 balls. No other batsman could really contribute to the total, other than Raza Ali Dar who made 26 off 22 to take the score to 315/8.

Captain Azhar Ali remained the highest scorer from the Balochistan side, with 80 runs off 92 balls, including 6 fours and 3 sixes. Umar Akmal also played well scoring 59 off 45 balls and Awais Zia with 45 runs.

Bilawal Bhatti remained the leading wicket ticker from Balochsitan’s side. Usama Mir managed to send 2 Islamabad players back to the pavilion while Awaiz Zia and Sohail Tanvir managed to grab a single wicket each.

Kamran Akmal was picked Man of The Match award for his blistering innings of 134 off 102 balls.

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) team has already qualified for the final of the Pakistan Cup defeating Sindh yesterday. After this loss Islamabad is out of contention for the final.

However, Balochistan will have to face the winner of the Sindh and Punjab match to be held on Friday.
