Pakistani batsman Younis Khan pledged on Wednesday that he has not set any deadline as to when would be calling time on his glorious international career.
Prominent sports organizer Nadeem Omar has honour the legendary batsman with cash award and gold medal for reaching coveted milestone of 100 Tests during the recent series in Sri Lanka. Nadeem also complimented Younis for the numerous records he has achieved in Test cricket and said that every youngster should emulate Younis as their role model. Former chief selectors Salahuddin Ahmed, Iqbal Qasim and Moin Khan along with Rashid Latif also paid glowing tribute to Younis, local media reported.
Younis Khan, while receiving the honour said, “Honestly, I won’t be sitting here if not for the support of many wonderful people in my life. Without their encouragement and guidance, I would have never achieved what I have got today. The biggest achievement in my career is getting the chance to play for Pakistan. What I’m today it is because of Pakistan and the identity my country has given me.”
Younis Khan credited his success and fame during his career that began in February 2000 to a number of people. Younis has bagged many records in recent Test series against Sri Lanka, he has highest successful chase in history when they surpassed the target of 377 runs and he has climbed two places to sixth in the ICC Player Rankings for Test Batsmen.
