After so many hurdles, Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has finally been issued Indian visa on Wednesday as per Pakistan Cricket Board’s official request.
Hafeez, who is to undergo a test on his bowling action at the ICC-accredited testing centre in Chennai, got the Indian visa on Wednesday afternoon. The ICC had earlier turned down PCB's request to extend the deadline of his test, media reported.
According to local media reports, The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to extend the deadline of July 4. If Hafeez fails to clear the test, he would be facing a 12-month ban from bowling in international cricket.
Hafeez, who had joined the team in Pallekelle for the practice sessions, will now be missing third Test as he is to fly to Chennai for his bowling action test.
Hafeez, a Pakistani all-rounder who bowls off-spin, was reported by match officials for an illegal bowling action for the second time within a year during the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle. He was also earlier reported for a suspect bowling action against New Zealand last year in the UAE.
