Pakistan’s star batman’s Younis Khan wants to see Pakistan at No. 1 spot. He will enter the field today to record his 100th Test presence for his country.
According to local media reports Younis said, “I will be extremely happy to see Pakistan at No.1 in the ICC Test Rankings before I call time on my career”.
“After I scored triple-century against Sri Lanka in 2009 I was elevated to No.1 in the batting rankings and therefore, as an individual, I know how good it feels when you are at the top. I want to see Pakistan at No.1 and hold the ICC Test Mace,” added Younis.
Khan with a unique record of all innings of a Test match and he is the greatest Pakistan Test batsman ever. Younis says it is a ‘dream come true’ to be playing his 100th Test, but he still has goals to fulfill before hanging up his boots.
Khan will become only the fifth Pakistani to play 100 or more Tests after Javed Miandad (124), Inzamam-ul Haq (119), Wasim Akram (104) and Salim Malik (103).
Pakistan team recorded their first Test win in Sri Lanka after a lapse of nine years when they won at Galle. Today, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat in the second Test against Sri Lanka at the P. Sara Oval in Colombo. Pakistan will be looking to strengthen their hold on this series.
