imageLAHORE: Zimbabwe captain Elton Chigumbura won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan in the first Twenty20 on Friday, a match which marks the return of international cricket in Pakistan after six years.

International cricket was suspended in Pakistan after gunmen attacked the Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore on March 3, 2009, killing eight people and injuring seven visiting players.

Zimbabwe agreed to tour Pakistan only after being promised top-level security reserved for heads of state, with 4,000 policemen guarding the Gaddafi Stadium and surrounding areas.

Pakistan Cricket Board says the match is a sell-out with a 27,000 capacity in the stadium.

Pakistan included batsman Shoaib Malik and paceman Mohammad Sami -- recalled after a gap of one and three years respectively.

The two Twenty20 internationals will be followed by three one-day internationals on May 26, 29 and 31.

Teams:

Pakistan: Shahid Afridi (capt), Sarfraz Ahmed, Ahmed Shehzad, Mohammad Hafeez, Mukhtar Ahmed, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal, Anwar Ali, Bilawal Bhatti, Wahab Riaz, Mohammad Sami

Zimbabwe: Elton Chigumbura (capt), Sikandar Raza, Charles Coventry, Graeme Cremer, Hamilton Masakadza, Christopher Mpofu, Richmond Mutumbami, Tinashe Panyangara, Vusi Sibanda, Brian Vitori, Sean Williams

Umpires: Ahsan Raza (PAK) and Shozab Raza (PAK)

TV umpire: Ahmed Shahab (PAK)

Match referee: Azhar Khan (PAK)
