Pakistan’s newly appointed Captain Azhar Ali has accepted the team’s failure while facing Bangladesh during the recent ODI series. Pakistan has faced a humiliating defeat against the Bengali Tigers on Sunday, Captain Azhar Ali admitted his team’s abject failure and inability to play decent cricket.
According to NDTV, Azhar said in an interview, “It is a big blow for us. We are going through a rebuilding process. We have new guys in the team but we didn’t expect to lose here. We wanted to win, but we didn’t play good enough cricket”.
“I think the wicket was good. I think we lost wickets at bad times, very quickly to start with. I think the wicket was easily 300-plus. It was coming on to the bat. We didn't play well,” he added.
Ali is expecting a good cricket from Pakistan team in the last ODI match on Wednesday. He said that we need to improve the batting and fielding in order to win the upcoming matches.
Head Coach Waqar Younis has also come under fire after Pakistan lost their first ODI to Bangladesh in 16 years and then slumped to their first One-day series defeat. Bangladesh have already won the three-match ODI series after winning the first two games, but Pakistan will still try to redeem themselves in the last ODI match on Wednesday.
