Australian team brutally beat Indian bowlers in the first warm-up match of the World Cup on Sunday. The smashing batting of Australian players exposed the weakness of Indian bowlers and left former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar annoyed and impatient.
Team India has lost their first practice match by a margin of 106 runs. Only R Ashwin was able to hold the run rate as his economy remains best among all Indian bowlers at 4.83. The replacement of Ishant Sharma, Mohit has resulted in a worst performance with the miserable economy of 10.33.
According to media reports, annoyed Gavaskar said, “All I saw were short balls today. Where were the Yorkers? I think the bowlers lack the confidence to pitch it up. They think they may be hit out of the park, but that should not be the logic at all.
Hence, the batting line of Maxwell and other tremendous Australian’s batsmen has proved to be the hot favorite team, whereas, India’s bowling can assault India.
Gavaskar has however continued to hope and wish India will not disappoint the nation and advise them that, “There is still some time left. This was only a practice match. The team can fix the problems before the World Cup begins officially”.
