SWABI: Fast bowler Junaid Khan, who has been dropped from the world cup squad due to injury, has said that he would soon stage a comeback in the national cricket team with the prayers of the nation.
Talking to local reporters outside his residence in village Mathra Dagai on the eve of his wedding, the national cricket hero said after marriage he would proceed to Saudi Arabia for Umrah with his wife. After performing Umrah "I will concentrate on my treatment to get fit and join the national team."
He was confident that the national team would show excellent performance in the upcoming world cup in Australia as it comprised the best players who have lot potential to earn name for the country at the biggest cricket extravaganza.
He said that his marriage program was scheduled after the world cup but since he was dropped from the team after the injury therefore it was the best time to fulfill this Islamic obligation.
"I apologize to the entire nation and the cricket lovers for not participating in the world cup, my family members and me too upset over exclusion from the national cricket squad but this is what written in my luck by the Allah Almighty ", he told when asked.
With the prayers of the nation and blessing of Allah Almighty I will be soon in action in the field of cricket, he said adding, "after marriage he is the biggest gift for his wife". My friends have purchased the wedding sherwani for me in Peshawar.
