Former Indian captain Rahul Dravid on Saturday remarked about famed India batsman Virat Kholi that he need to stick on his finest performance during ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 as the Indian cricket team has been heavily relying on someone like Virat Kholi.
According to ESPN, Dravid said, “Kohli need to bat well and need to set the tempo for the side. If you look at the Indian bating lineup to get India through those middle overs which allows the likes of Raina and Dhoni to come at the back end and finish off games”. During the conversation Former South Africa captain Graeme Smith also ranked Kohli as an ‘outstanding player’. Smith commented, “I think he is an outstanding player, he is a great player of spin and pace, that's a huge advantage for him, and once he gets in, he has a great conversion rate. He makes it count.”
Dravid was, however, seemed to be concerned about the death bowling of the team terming it ‘inconsistent’. Smith and Dravid also sounded auspicious about the lineup of Indian cricket team.
“ They do it well, and I think if you look at their top seven, the expected top seven to play, they've got four right-hand batsmen and three left-hand batsmen in that, Dhawan, Raina and Jadeja in the top seven,” Dravid added.
India will face Pakistan in World Cup opener on February 15, 2015.
