Pakistani national squad for World Cup 2015 has been banned from using social networking sites during the World Cup matches. Their wives too won’t be able to accompany them in the mega event of cricket.
According to media reports, Pakistan team manager Naved Akram Cheema said, “I personally feel only people with loads of free time are active on these sites and I don't think our players will have enough time on hand for other things other than focusing on cricket and doing well in the World Cup”.
“These players have been selected to represent their country in the biggest event of the cricket world and they need to give 100 percent and remain focused on their game that is why we have imposed this restriction so that they are not distracted,” he added.
It has to be noted that some of the Pakistani players including Shahid Afridi, Muhammed Hafeez and Umar Akmal are the active users of Twitter. Cheema also said that those who are found violating the rules will face serious circumstances.
Wives and children of Pakistani players won’t be able to accompany them during the World Cup matches. However, they can stay with them in New Zealand before the World Cup starts on February 15, 2015.
