International Cricket Council (ICC) believes that it’s tough to fix any of the matches of an upcoming World Cup 2015. The host countries are working on the arrangements to deal with the match fixing issues.
According to ICC Cricket, David Richardson said on Tuesday that the International Cricket Council (ICC) would clamp down hard on bad behaviour in the tournament by the players. He said, “On the corruption side it’s safe to say we’re the best prepared we’ve ever been. Our anti-corruption personnel have done a lot of work in entering into agreements, associations and arrangements with the local police and law enforcement agencies in New Zealand and Australia”.
“Our intelligence and information on who these corruptors are, and who may try and fix matches around the world, has grown. We know exactly where these people are and we have got a list of more than a hundred names we will be passing on to these law enforcement agencies,” he added.
Match fixing is now a criminal offence in Australia and New Zealand and ICC is well prepared to face such issues. Richardson also claims that it’s very tough to fix match with the players or umpires during the World Cup 2015. Host countries have introduced a special legislation to take action against match fixing.
Previously, many Pakistani players including Salman Butt, Mohammed Asif, Mohammed Aamir, Danish Kaneria and Kamran Akmal among others has been accused of fixing match in different matches of World Cup.
