imageISLAMABAD: Legendary batsman Javed Miandad while backing the Kenya next month's tour to Pakistan said if this visit fails to bring in other foreign teams here than it would prove an expensive gamble for the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The Kenyan cricket team will arrive in Pakistan for a five-match ODI series against Pakistan A on December 11. All matches will be played at the Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. Kenya would thus become the second national team after Afghanistan to have visited this country since March 9, 2009.

Talking to APP, Miandad said the Kenyan team tour to Pakistan is an expensive one as no international team besides Afghanistan has visited the country. "Kenyan team tour should prove fruitful and should help in reviving in international cricket in the country," he said.

Miandad said after the Kenyan team's tour PCB should rope in tours against the stronger sides in the cricket world with request to the ICC. "I hope this tour helps in restoring cricket in the country so that pur players could also be groomed well," he said.

Talking about the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Miandad said PSL should also be held in Pakistan, as in the years to come it can attract a lot of players once it is leashed. "PSL is our own league and to play it in UAE will not end the country's drought of international cricket," he said.

Miandad said the PCB should take the initiative and see how it goes in Pakistan. "I am sure once the league starts it will attract a lot of foreign players who are retired or domestic players of other countries," he pointed.

Former PCB Director General said we can interact our domestic players with the national team which will boost the player's morale and will give them confidence. "We need to fix our domestic cricket first through which we can get a handful of talented players," he maintained.
