ABU DHABI: New Zealand were dismissed for 262 in their first innings on the third day of the first Test against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday.
Rod Latham hit a career best 103 for his maiden hundred while Corey Anderson (48) and BJ Watling (42) put some resistance against some fine pace bowling by Rahat Ali who finished with 4-22 and spinner Zulfiqar Babar took 3-79.
The Kiwis fell 105 runs short of avoiding the follow-on after Pakistan piled up a huge 566-3 declared in their first innings.
Pakistan decided not to enforce the follow-on and will bat again.
