KARACHI: Chairman of Executive Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Najam Sethi like everybody was also surprised with the dropping of Vice-captain Sarfraz Ahmed from the both the Twenty20 Internationals against Sri Lanka.
"It was heartening and encouraging that Pakistan won a thriller against Sri Lanka," Najam Sethi commented on a private television channel on Sunday night.
"Questions of dropping Sarfraz comes from the general public and we also wanted to know reasons of his dropping," former PCB Chairman, said.
"We would be inquiring the issue from the team officials about Sarfraz once they are back," he said.
He said it was domain of touring selection committee including chief coach, captain and manager to select the final eleven for each match.
"We will put this question to chief coach Waqar Younis and Shahid Afridi reasons for not including Sarfraz Ahmed," he added.
"After Test and One-day series, Pakistan also won the Twenty20 series to end on a great note," he remarked.
"Pakistan team looked gelled, showed team spirit and peoples wanted to see that fighting qualities in the team without bothering about the end results, he commented.
He said after he was inducted as the Chairman, he gave free-hand to selection and committee to work independently without the interference from the chairman.
