Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by seven wickets in the fourth one-day international in Colombo. Pakistani batsmen showed depth as they converted starts into big innings in ODI series.
Pakistan captain Azhar Ali scored 33 and Ahmed Shehzad scored 95 off 90 balls. While Muhammad Hafeez played well and scored 70-run knock off 88 balls. Pakistani batsman gave a rollicking start in their chase with a 75-run stand in 11 overs.
According to local media reports, Hafeez helped Shehzad build on the fine start by adding 115 for the second wicket, but Sri Lanka hit back to remove both batsmen in the space of 23 runs. Ahmed Shehzad followed it with a ruthless chase of a target that could have been tricky on a dry turning surface.
Shehzad and Hafeez batted with authority. While Hafeez accelerated from 7 off 24 to the eventual 70 off 88, Shehzad never really slowed down. However, Hafeez batted so well to bring us victory. This was their first bilateral series win in Sri Lanka in nine years, and took them closer to Champions Trophy qualification.
The fifth match will be played in Hambantota on Sunday.
