imageLAHORE: The city remained in the grip of cricket fever on Friday as people thronged Gaddafi Stadium forgetting hot weather to watch T20 between Zimbabwe and Pakistan.

In many localities, youths had made arrangements for large screen television sets so that people of their area could enjoy the match.

The city wore a deserted look on evening as many shops and small markets in different localities remained closed and public transport remained thin. Only a few private vehicles were seen plying on city roads during the match.

Many shopkeepers had also brought small television sets at their shops.

Talking to APP, spectators at Gaddafi Stadium said: "We are not here to support our team but to welcome the guest".

A group of students said Pakistan's cricketing grounds were getting their souls back.

"I cordially thanks Zimbabwe team to bring back life to our grounds. Thank you Zim once again.", said by Irfan Ali.
