KARACHI: Newly married Sarfraz Ahmed was targetting some thing special in the historic series against Zimbabwe as he enters a new phase in life.
"It is my wish to achieve something special for the country against Zimbabwe," Sarfraz Ahmed told APP in an interview after his wedding with Khushbakht Aftab on Tuesday night.
"This is short tour by Zimbabwe. But its big breakthrough for Pakistan that international cricket is returning to Pakistan after six years," upbeat Sarfraz said.
"Personally I want to celebrate this occasion in big way to bring glory and honor to the country," he stressed.
"For the players and passionate cricket supporters of Pakistan it will be big day celebrate on Friday (May 22)," he commented.
"I am eagerly looking forward to fully entertain cricket- starved public," he said.
He complimented Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for bringing cricket to this country .
Sarfraz Ahmed this will be his second international cricket appearance in Pakistan after featuring in 2008 Asia Cup.
He said despite hectic marriage activities, he was fully geared-up focused and fit to produce his best in the series.
He praised the spirit of Elton Chigumbura's Zimbabwe side and their officials to tour Pakistan and send a positive message to the cricketers across the world.
"Everyone is happy in Pakistan that Zimbabwe cricketers have opened the doors of international cricket in Pakistan.
"Thank your very much Zimbabwe and we are looking forward to exciting with them," he concluded.
Sarfraz Ahmed will be flying to Lahore to join the team and return to Karachi to celebrate his Valima Reception on Monday.
