Invitational XI 271 for 5 v England at close

SYDNEY: A Cricket Australia Invitational XI was 271 for five at stumps after being sent in to bat by England on the opening day of their tour match in Sydney on Wednesday.

Ryan Carters was not out 94 with skipper Peter Nevill on 76 in an unbroken 178-run partnership.

Stuart Broad had taken three wickets for 36 off 20 overs.
