ppp-flag 400HYDERABAD: The present government of Pakistan Peoples Party has made a history by ensuring development of women with provision of maximum rights so that the fifty percent population of the country could not only share their role for the progress and prosperity of the homeland but also improve their socio economic conditions.

This was stated by Sindh Minister for Women Development Touqir Fatima Bhutto while talking to media persons and speaking as chief guest at Cheque, Certificates and Beauty Parlor Kits among 600 women of Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Tando Allahyar district here at Mumtaz Mirza Auditorium on Tuesday evening.

The six hundred women of Hyderabad, Matiari, Tando Muhammad Khan and Tando Allahyar Districts have completed skill development course under Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Youth Development Programme.

In the next phase of the programme, the minister informed that the women folk will be trained in the fields of agriculture, livestock and poultry development so that they could improve their socio economic conditions by launching their own business.

Touqir Fatima Bhutto said that first time in the history of the country, the PPP government has established women development offices in each district of Sindh with objective to ensure the provision of complete socio status in the society and provide protection to women against injustices.

She informed that the President Asif Ali Zardari and President PPP Women Wing MNA Faryal Talpur are taking keen interest in women development and provision of maximum rights to fifty percent population of the country particularly those who are residing in rural parts.

The minister informed that her ministry has initiated numbers of steps for women development and their protection against the injustices. The ministry will soon publish its five years performance, she added.

She informed that the ministry is establishing Benazir Women Complex in Nawabshah and such type of complex will also be established in Hyderabad in the next phase of the project.

Besides shelter to helpless women, the minister informed that food and other facilities will also be provided to those women who will take shelter in these women complexes.

Touqir Fatima Bhutto said that empowerment of women is being carried out under the vision of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto who wanted the due role of women in the progress and prosperity of the country.

She said that it was the great sacrifices of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto that political orphans of the country have no other choice except to commend her sacrifices for the restoration of democracy and rights of the countrymen.

The minister maintained that the PPP has no cold war with any institution of the country. The PPP has due respect for judiciary and it has no intention of clash with any institution of the country, she added.

However, she made it clear that PPP always struggled for the oppressed people of the country and in this regard, the party leaders and workers are ready to sacrifice of any kind.

The President Asif Ali Zardari has rendered great sacrifices for the party and it was his dynamic leadership that the country is united with strong democracy and moving towards the path of progress and prosperity, she said.

The Director Women Development Hameeda Shah while speaking on the occasion said that the department has established Benazir Women Cell in Karachi, Hyderabad, Jacobabad and Benazirabad districts where free of cost legal advices are being provided to oppressed women.

She informed that the department has also established Sale and Display Centre in Karachi in order to promote the work of women artisan so that they could earn maximum profits of their handcrafts.

Besides, she informed that Women Advocacy Centre in order to protect them against the injustices.

Among others, Deputy Commissioner Hyderabad Agha Shahnawaz Babar, Incharge Women Complaint Cell Hyderabad Syed Quarrat-ul-Ain Shah and Incharge Women Centre Hyderabad Fozia Ashraf also spoke on occasion.
