KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has directed government departments to work more efficiently in the larger public interest.
This is the only way to establish good governance in the province, he said.
This he said while presiding over a meeting on the recoveries and target of Sindh Revenue Board (SRB) at New Sindh Secretariat here on Tuesday, said a statement.
The meeting was attended by chief secretary Siddique Memon, Chairman SRB Alamuddin Bullo, Advisor SRB Mushtaq Kazmi, Secretary Finance Hassan Naqvi and others.
He said that he could not do anything alone but it is a team work which would make the difference.
"The establishment of SRB was a great move of PPP government in Sindh and now it has started producing great results by making record revenues," he said and congratulated them on their excellent team work.
The Chairman SRB, Alamuddin Bullo briefing the chief minister said that the SRB has collected Rs10 billion during the first one and half month of the new financial year, 2016-17.
Giving further break-up of the recoveries, he said in July 2016 the recovery was recorded at Rs6.84 billion while upto August 15, it has been recorded at Rs.3.22 bilion.
Alamuddin Bullo said that the recovery target for current financial year is Rs 78 billion while last year it was Rs 61 billion.
He assured the chief minister that the target given by the government to SRB would be achieved.
