imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to submit reply over applications of Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah and Arif Azeem in a case regarding alleged illegal appointments in the Employees Old age Benefit Institution (EOBI).

The division bench of the apex court comprising Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Justice Tariq Pervaiz heard the contempt of court case over appointments in EOBI in violation of Supreme Court orders.

During the course of proceedings, Advocate Aitzaz Ahsan appeared on behalf of former federal minister Syed Khursheed Ahmad Shah and told the court that NAB authorities had submitted wrong information about his client.

He said that Khursheed Ahmad Shah was not Labour and Manpower minister at the time of appointments made in EOBI.

Tariq Jehangiri counsel for Arif Azeem also alleged that the NAB provided wrong information regarding his client.

The chief justice remarked that action would be taken against those people who provided wrong information.

The court also accepted the appeal of Arif Azeem to remove his name from the Exit Control List (ECL). Arif Azeem's name was included in ECL on The directions of apex court on June 16.

The court also withdrew notice regarding personal appearance of Arif Azeem and adjourned hearing of the case for an indefinite period.
