LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) Chief Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah chaired the first meeting of LHC Working Committee constituted to look after affairs of the LHC held in new library hall here on Friday.
The committee comprises of Justice Shahid Hameed Dar, Justice Muhammad Yawar Ali, Justice Syed Muhammad Kazim Raza Shamsi, Justice Abdul Sami Khan, Justice Ali Baqar Najfi, Justice Atir Mehmood, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza, Justice Muhammad Tariq Abbasi, Justice Khalid Mehmood Malik and Justice Shahid Mubeen. However, the last three Committee members could not attend the meeting as they are performing duties on the regional benches of Lahore High Court. In place of them, Justice Chaudhry Masood Jahangir, Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi and Mrs. Justice Erum Sajjad Gul attended the meeting.
Case Management System, Policy Making pertaining to administrative matters as well as ways and means for providing expeditious justice to the litigant public were discussed at length.
It is pertinent to add that different administrative departments of LHC have been placed under the Judges.
Working Committee is a step towards collective ownership of looking after the administrative affairs of the Court. The Chief Justice observed that the provision of expeditious and speedy justice to litigant public is first and foremost duty.
The participants commended the measures initiated by the chief justice to improve the judicial and administrative system of the court.
