ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Tuesday ordered cancellation of the land acquired under the Section-IV for the Bhara Kahu Housing Foundation.
The minister also directed the Special Secretary Interior to hold an inquiry of the land acquisition process, said a press release.
Nisar said he would support each and every housing scheme initiated for low income group of federal employees, but the land should be procured as per market rates from the rural residents.
He said the land grabbers, whether they were 'official or private', would not be allowed to operate at any cost.
The minister also banned the land acquisition under government rules for setting up housing societies in the federal capital.
For the benefit of a 'certain community,' he said, misuse of the government laws and grabbing land of poor at low rates could not be allowed.
The minister directed the chief commissioner that the Islamabad administration should not be the part of any such act.
