imageISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday accepted the application of new Hajj tour operators for hearing and issued notice to the Attorney General for Pakistan (CJP).

The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard the case filed by new tour operators for not granting Hajj quota.

The court asked the government to inform that why Hajj quota was not allocated to the new tour operators.

During the course of proceedings, counsel Muhammad Alamgir representing Hajj Management Association told the court that the old tour operators had established their monopoly and the government allocated Hajj quota to only old tour operators. He said that they were ignored in the allocation of Hajj quota.

Justice Amir Hani remarked that the court had directed to allocate 50 per cent Hajj quota to all tour operators.

The court asked the AGP to inform about the government's stance and adjourned the case for two weeks.
