ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Thursday directed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to submit implementation report regarding shifting of government offices from residential areas.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed heard the case and remarked that the court would not accept violation of law.
During the course of proceedings, Advocate Munir Paracha counsel for CDA submitted implementation report and stated that 45 government offices were working in residential areas.
He said that these offices have been directed to shift offices from residential areas till May 31. Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that under which law these offices were allowed to shift till May 31.
Munir Paracha told that a schedule had been handed over to these offices for shifting offices from residential areas. Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that the court would not allow violation of law.
Deputy Attorney General Aamir Chaudhry told the court that the offices of IG Motorway and IG Traffic Police had been shifted from the residential areas in light of the apex court orders. He said that serious steps had been taken for implementation of court orders.
Later, hearing of the case was adjourned till first week of June.
