ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Wednesday rejected the implementation report in compliance of 2007 court order regarding Lal Masjid and adjourned hearing of the case for one week.
The bench, comprising Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan and Justice Sardar Tariq Massod, heard the case filed by Lal Masjid cleric.
The court directed the Federation to submit new report and remarked that there was no progress in Lal Masjid case despite passing nine years.
During the course of proceedings, Deputy Attorney General Sohail Mahmood appeared before the bench and submitted compliance report regarding 2007 court order and stated the First Information Report (FIR) was registered over blasphemy.
Advocate Tariq Asad counsel for the petitioner told the court that the report was incomplete as the court had directed to register FIRs and payment of blood money to the families of killed persons which was not implemented.
Later, the court sought comprehensive implementation report regarding 2009 court order and adjourned hearing of the case for one week.
