imageISLAMABAD: State Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control Engineer Baligh ur Rehman on Tuesday told the Senate that the ministry of Interior has allowed Pervaiz Musharraf to leave the country in the light of Superior Court order.

Winding up debate on a motion moved by Senator Farhat Ullah Babar, the minister said that in June 2014 the Sindh High Court in his decision allowed Musharraf to travel abroad.

He said that the federal government filed appeal in the Supreme Court against decision of Sindh High Court and requested to suspend the order and stop Musharraf for traveling abroad.

The minister said that the federal government had fought this case in Supreme Court for two years.

The Supreme Court on 17th March 2016 rejected the federal government's two-year-old appeal against the Sindh High Court (SHC) decision to remove former president Pervez Musharraf's name from the Exit Control List (ECL) allowing him to travel abroad for medical treatment.

He said that past dictators were responsible for the current situation of the country adding that terrorism has been grown up in the regime of Pervaiz Musharraf.

Baligh said that previous government had given a guard of honor to a dictator while the present government has started Musharraf's trial according to article 6 of the constitution.

He said that the present government would not compromise on the issue of Pervaiz Musharraf.

Eralier Speaking on the motion Senator Farhat Ullah Babar said that Pervez Musharraf had broken the constitution of the country and committed crime.

He said that Musharraf should be punished according to the article 6 of the constitution.

Senator Nehayal Hashmi said that the Musharraf was not being trialed during the regime of previous government.

He said that it was the fear of article 6 on the Pervez Musharraf which has compel him to leave the country.
